Sally Wickes is an Adelaide-based artist, living and working on Kaurna land.

She is a sculptor, visual artist and industrial designer. Working in traditional and new materials, she brings life to her creations for exhibitions, commissions, public art and symposia.

She began sculpting formally in 2002, while completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts & Design (Sculpture) from Adelaide College of the Arts.

In 2012, Sally received Arts SA and Helpmann Academy grants to undertake marble carving tuition in Pietrasanta, Italy. As a member of SA Stone Sculptors Association she has since instructed numerous stone sculpting workshops for children and adults. 

She also received her Graduate Diploma of Design (Industrial Design) from Uni SA in 2018, expanding creative and technological possibilities.

Sally’s achievements include being awarded several prizes in the Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize and Brighton Jetty Classic Sculptures. She also has permanent public artworks on the Storybook Walk for Onkaparinga Council; Wirrarninthi Interpretive Trail in Adelaide’s West Park Lands; Crystal Lake Sculpture Park in Macclesfield and Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council.
